For guests looking for a family friendly & informative hike, this opportunity may be a perfect fit for you! Upon arrival, guests will learn about the watershed area that is being visited on the tour and to go over more information about the ecosystem and how the watershed is important to both the mountain and the sea. The hike is about 1.5 miles in duration and rated easy to moderate on a difficulty scale (based on the average guest). Along the way guests will explore with their guide about various plants found along the way including discussion about invasive species and native Hawaiian plants. The trail does feature some scenic overlooks for guests to enjoy the view. After the hike, guests will stop by Honolua Bay to see where the river connects to the ocean. Tour is done on private land that is managed by the watershed preserve and the trail is not open to the general public to access! Tour also includes a minor service element where guests can assist in picking up rubbish along the trail, tree planting, or other easy tasks to help give back and assist in preserving the region.
All reservations must be cancelled by 72 hours prior to check in time during our office hours. In the event the guide determines there is reason why the trip cannot operate due to conditions, we may reschedule or refund accordingly. Guests are responsible to arrive on time to their scheduled activity as refunds are not issued to guests who miss their activity for any reason including, but not limited to, travel delays traffic, illness, etc. or for guests who do not meet the requirements.
